Clients

Multinational corporations, mid-market international groups and Ukrainian companies with cross-border operations. Some have been with the firm for more than fifteen years.

Who we act for

Our client base divides roughly into three groups, and each needs something different from a Ukrainian firm.

International groups with Ukrainian operations need a firm that reports the way their in-house legal function expects: written advice in English, clear escalation of anything that could reach the board, and fees that can be budgeted a year in advance.

Investors and acquirers need diligence that distinguishes between a defect that changes the price and one that should end the transaction, and a transaction team that can hold a timetable through merger control clearance.

Ukrainian businesses trading internationally need help with the parts of a cross-border deal that Ukrainian counsel often treat as someone else's problem — foreign counterparty documentation, currency control and the enforceability of what has been agreed.

Confidentiality is absolute. Due to NDA restrictions, many of our engagements are never disclosed at all.

What clients say they value

We ask, periodically and directly. The answers are consistent enough that they have shaped how the firm operates.

  • Advice that reaches a conclusion instead of listing possibilities.
  • Realistic timelines, including the difference between statutory and actual.
  • Fee estimates that hold, and a call before any budget is exceeded.
  • The same partner across years, so context does not have to be rebuilt.
  • Willingness to say that a course of action is not worth pursuing.

Most relationships begin with a single defined matter. If it goes well, it grows from there — we do not ask for retainers before we have earned them.
